MidShore Crab Feast

Amber and Trish talking to people about the Masonic Youth.
Last Sunday, right before Hurricane Irene became the most destructive, me, my sister, and my mom went to the Masonic Mid-Shore Crab Feast to promote the Masonic Youth, such as Job's Daughters, DeMolay, and Rainbow. It was raining pretty hard, as Hurricane Irene had already started. But it wasn't cancelled, so we drove to Easton, MD.
We had planned on setting up a table and just leaving it for people to come look at and take some information from, but the wind had a different idea. Each time we set it up, the posters and fliers would be blown away, so we packed it up and decided to just go from table to table after we ate.
The food was good, but not as good as I thought it would be. They had plenty of food, though, since most people did not show up because of the hurricane. They had crabs (of course), hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, crab cakes, fried chicken, corn, watermelon, coleslaw, shrimp, macaroni salad, and clams. It was a lot of food, and no one would go hungry.
Some people came from Bel Air, MD, others from La Plata, MD. That's a long way away from Easton, Md! Others were local, such as Ridgely, Md, and Easton. And to come during a hurricane as well! These people had some major determination! It was a good turnout, about 50 people, because it was during a hurricane. Over 300 had already ordered tickets to it before the hurricane hit, so compared to that, it wasn't a lot of people. But oh well. We got 2 potential Rainbow Girls/Jobs Daughters, and 2 potential DeMolays, so it was pretty good, I'd say.
