Sunburn

Image
Summer is quickly approaching! It's already Memorial Day weekend! It's already warm out, and it's just going to get warmer! Be sure you are prepared! Use lots of sunscreen, drink lots of water, and watch out for sunburn! According to Wikipedia , sunburn is  a burn to living tissue, such as skin , which is produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun 's rays. Tasha's peeling sunburn on her arm and shoulder. Some sunburn can be lifethreatening! That means you could die from it! Most, however, usually just make your skin hot and red, and will eventually lead to peeling which is considered extreemly disgusting by most. (Mine happens to look like "skin cancer" as I was told. See picture to the left) Sunburn is most common on the shoulders, face, and back. Shirts, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen can reduce the amount of UV Rays that go to your skin to create sunburn, but won't completely stop it. Being in the sun can

The Girl Who Played With Fire (book)

Image
Let me start off by saying, read the first book first. Just for the issue of not understanding a dilemna in this one. The Girl Who Played With Fire: by Stieg Larsson I cannot find too much relevant information about the book, or the (deceased) author. I attribute this to the fact that I own the book on my Kindle and the movie takes up a lot of internet search results. The book is a continuation of Larsson's AMAZING book "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo." There is some adult content in the book, there is a scene where a woman remebers getting raped, and the illegal sex trade is a topic in "Fire." Fire is the second of three in a series where the main character is a woman who is socially inadequate but very smart. She has a very troubled past and recounts on it very few times, she also has trust issues. The second book was the one I chose to review because the second one will leave you will your jaw wide open waiting to read the third. Trust me, I just witnessed t

Fireflies by Lacey Reah

Summary: Linda is a calculating, career-driven woman whose perfect world is shattered when she is seduced and transformed by a vampire-like creature called a nymphomite. Linda becomes a beast, feeding off the energy of orgasmically-charged blood. Convinced that her humanity has faded away, Linda adapts to her new instincts of hunger and sex. She hunts women primarily, for their longer and more frequent orgasms, and becomes a master of prolonging and intensifying their pleasure. But she never expected to find a woman like Jesse, and Linda's decision to spare her life instead of feed off her leads to a shocking turn of events that will make Linda question her beastlike identity and the humanity she thought she had lost. Cover Illustration by Meghann Pardee Review:  So this book is short. you cant put it down once you start. Very original not a story line I have heard of before. The ending leaves you wanting more book is amazing and leaves you speechless.

Eric Luper Interview

Search Amazon.com for eric luper PrincessReviews , Eric Luper 1. Can you explain what Jeremy Bender vs. The Cupcake Cadets is about? Jeremy Bender vs. the Cupcake Cadets is a story about a boy who, in an effort to win a $500 prize to fix the damage he’s done to his father’s antique boat, enters a model boat race called the Windjammer Whirl. The trouble is that the competition is only open to Cupcake Cadets… and the Cupcake Cadets (think Girl Scouts) is only open to girls. Jeremy, along with his best friend Slater, decide to masquerade as Cadets, enter the contest and win the prize. After all, what could go wrong? 2. What inspired you to write it? One day, I was trying to think of the most embarrassing situation I could think of for a 12-year-old boy. At the top of the list was the idea of standing in front of an auditorium filled with people dressed as a Girl Scout…and being discovered. The idea led to so many questions: - How would the kid have gotten there in the first

Mike Faricy Interview and Giveaway!

Mark Faricy Biography: I live in St. Paul, Minnesota and Dublin, Ireland. I’ve been a soldier, a bartender, and a freelance journalist. I’ve sold designer cakes as well as owned a small painting and decorating company. On the off chance none of my paying jobs offend you, I also play the bagpipes in the Brian Boru Irish Pipe Band. All my books are stand alone, read them in whatever order you wish. I write about the sort of oddballs we’re curious about, but wisely prefer to keep at a distance. None of my characters will be saving the world from terrorism, international banking conspiracies or coups to take over the government. My characters inhabit a world just below the surface of polite society with one foot on either side of the law. They serve not as an example but as a warning. The circumstance of their lives are usually the result of bad decisions, but then bad decisions make for interesting stories. Interview: PrincessReviews, Mike Faricy Hey before I begin let me start by

Kiko the Hawaiian Wave Review and Giveaway!

Image
REVIEW: Title: Kiko The Hawaiian Wave Author: Beth Navarro Format: Online Audience: 6 and Under My Rating: 5/5 My Thoughts: Kiko the Hawaiian Wave is a book about a wave trying to find it's surfer, and a surfer trying to find his wave. It is part of the Be There Bed Time Stories collection, which I think is a really great site. You can record yourself reading the book and when your child/grandchild/friend opens the book to read it you will appear in the corner reading the book to them. Such a sweet gesture and every bit of love you can show your kid counts and will be remembered. Kiko the Hawaiian Wave is a great story in the collection and a great story itself! Kiko has never really been a big or strong wave and is made fun of by a bad wave, but shows everyone he can be a wonderful wave! Wow, now that I've typed this, Kiko sort of reminds me of the surfer version of The Little Engine That Could, but without having to try quite so hard. Personally, I loved th

Blogoversary Giveaway: Win Need and Intrinsical!

Image
Hey guys!  I know it's been eternity  a while since I've (April) posted, but I'm not dead! I'm participating in the PrincessReviews Blogoversary (I have no idea how to spell that lol) by giving away a paperback copy of Need by Carrie Jones and  hardcover   Intrinsical by Lani Woodland!  Both of these books are awesome so I'm excited to spread the awesomeness around through a giveaway!  And now that school is coming to a close, I'll try to review some more :) Goodreads Summary: Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane...but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now. She could n't be more wrong. Turns out the semi-stalker is not a figment of Zara's over

1 Year Blogaversary!!!!!!!!!

Hello. I started PrincessReviews on May 16, 2010. A full year ago. Wow! Can you believe it? PrincessReviews's first blogaversary! I can't believe it's already been a year!! It's been such an experience and I've had tons of fun! I can't wait to celebrate and continue the fun in future years! We've survived one year, hopefully we'll survive many more!! I couldn't have done it without the help of my awesome crew, my mom (Trish), my sister (Amber), April, Kati, Katelyn, and Shi Nu (for the little bit she helped). My cousin, Autumn, has helped immensly as well, though she never really worked on this blog because she was busy with her own ( http://www.reviewblog101.blogspot.com/ ), she helped advertise, and got me into reviewing and keeping up with my blogging. The MSA is a major factor to thank, for they were the ones who told me about Blogger and blogging. All of the authors, artists, and website owners that have allowed anyone on the PrincessReviews&

Mi0 Liquid Strawberry Watermelon

Image
Wow! How can I explain Mi0 Strawberry Watermelon Liquid? It's like summer in a drink! All you have to do is add a few squirts of this special drink sauce into a bottle or cup of water and mix or shake. I tried it today and from the first sip, I was blown away. If you can imagine how summer tastes, that is how the water tasted. I know it sounds crazy, but that is exactly how it tasted. I took a sip, and it was so good I closed my eyes, something I don't usually do. Then something sensational happened. I saw a bunch of images of summer in a slideshow type thing behind my eyelids, and it was as if I could taste the pictures. This drink is like summer heaven and I will forever drink it now. I am so glad I tried it and I encourage everyone else to try it as well. You won't regret it! Mi0 Liquid also comes in a Peach Tea flavor.

Resident Evil (film)

Okay, this is my first review here and let me just say that I am going to be dead honest and try to make my reviews as professional as possible for the review and then the reccomendation will include my personal thoughts. The Resident Evil Films are loosely (really loose) on the video game series by capcom. The story's main protagonist is Alice Abernathy, she worked for Umbrella, the corporation that developed the T-Virus, and she wakes up after weird events occur in a so far undisclosed location. She wakes up in a shower and it is revealed (slowly at first but it is hinted at) that she is suffering from amnesia. The amnesia is a side effect of a gas released into her shower by an A.I. (artificial intelligence) and the fact that this gas was released at all is a problem. After a few military people invade Alice's "home" they go through a door hidden behind a rather large mirror. Behind the mirror is a large staircase leading down to a train station. Cool concept but

Playtex Sport Body Wipes

Image
Man is it refreshing! Playtex sent me 12 packets of wipes. 1 wipe in each. I instantly gave one to every women I could think of. The first person on my list of course was my mother and I kept one for myself then the rest went to family and friends people I knew would like to try new things. Let me just say, my mom was impressed. She's a mail carrier ad always gets inky hands. She normally uses baby wipes. But these are better because  Playtex Sport Body Wipes are amazingly refreshing. Smells wonderful, strong/ long lasting. Which is great for when she spills something on her self (which is often) or for other purposes.  Thanks Playtex and Crowdtap

And the winners are...

The winners of Angel Burn are 1) Vivien Propst GFC: Vivien 2) Meredith Miller GFC: meredithfl 3) Kaitlynne Watanabe GFC: Kaity Wells Congratulations!
